Vinyasa is a style of yoga characterized by stringing postures together so that you move from one to another, seamlessly, using breath. Vinyasa classes offer a variety of postures and no two classes are ever alike.The breath-synchronized movement and the variable nature of Vinyasa Yoga helps to develop a balanced body and quietens the mind

As a philosophy, Vinyasa recognizes the temporary nature of things. We enter into a posture, are there for a while and then leave.While Vinyasa, or Vinyasa-Krama, dates back to the Vedic age—the earliest period of yoga thousands of years ago—it referred to a series, or sequence of steps, to make something sacred.
The movement practice of Vinyasa is said to begin with T Krishnamacharya who has had the largest influence on how yoga in general is practiced today.Put all this together and Vinyasa, is a breath initiated practice, that connects every action of our life with the intention of moving towards what is sacred, or most important to us.

In vinyasa yoga, each movement is synchronized to the breath. The breath is given primacy, acting as an anchor as you move from one pose to the next. The literal translation of vinyasa from Sanskrit is “connection,” accordingto Ellen Stansell, Ph.D., RYT, and scholar of yogic literature. In terms of yoga asanas we can interpret this as a connection between movement and breath or as theconnection between poses in a flowing sequence.

About the teacher Fatima Garcia

Fatima took up her dance studies at the age of 8. After this first Yoga experience in Spain, she moved to Paris in where she continues with her dance and art studies, and also had the opportunity to unite the Yoga basis into her daily dance routine. After that Fatima moved to India, in where the Yoga path and the self transformation began.

She started her Yoga studies in Chennai in the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram Institute, at the same time she was fascinated with the Asthanga Vinyasa method, so started her practice in the Asthanga Institute of Chennai, then she travel to north India, to Bihar school of Yoga in where she was introduced to the Yoga Philosophy, she made the Teacher Training Course in Sivananda Dhanwantari Ashram. Months after she moved to Himalayas, Uttarkashi in where she did her first intense Pranayama course under the Sivananda tradition.

After this intense period, travels, research and intense study Fatima has developed her own method called Yoga Dance alignment Development /Therapy for Dancers and Gymnasts, in where she is integrating Anatomy, Art, Breath and Movement.

Fatima is our in-house teacher and leads Ashtanga Vinyasa , Vinyasa Flow, Power Yoga ,Yin Yoga classes both mornings and evenings.
